Marzipan treats - recipe

Hi again!

I just wanted to share a delicious an very easy little recipe if you were to be craving something sweet. This recipe is also really fitting if you've been making my homemade strawberry tart and you have some marzipan left, which I did!
All you're going to need is some marzipan, some nuts and some chocolate (optional; some cocoa or licorice powder).

All you do, is divide your marizan into small even portions. Then you take your nuts an put one inside each marzipan dot (I choose salted almonds, but you can choose whatever you prefer). Then you just roll the little marzipan sweets together, dip them in chocolate and, if you want to, sprinkle a little bit of cocoa or licorice powder on top of them. Voila! You've now made delicious homemade sweet treats.

I'm going to Crete!

Hello!

I havn't really spoken to much of my big summer holiday this year, but I shorty mentioned it in my last blogpost, but I'm finally going on an amazing and relaxing trip to a hot island, which is Crete! Crete is situated south from Greece, and is a part of Greece. I've never been there before, but I'm going together with my friend and her mother, and they have been there about fourteen times, so they know everything you need to know on the island. I'm very excited and I will be traveling for eleven days in total. It's an amazing opportunity, and I'm really glad I'm going, I'm sure it's going to be an experience I will remember the rest of my life (and of course we will be wearing our new Triangl bikinis!).

Here is some pictures my friend sent me of where we're staying:

Gossip Girl obsessed + update

Hi there!

Ah yes, once again I've started watching the "Gossip Girl" series. I originally started watching the show about one or two years ago, and finally finished it last year. But after watching all the "Pretty Little Lias"and "Awkward" episodes/seasons as I possibly could, and some of the "Orange is the new black", I went back to my holy grail; "Gossip Girl". If you don't know what "Gossip Girl" is, where have you been?
"Gossip Girl" is a show about the life on the Upper East side in Manhattan, New York. In the show you follow Serena, Blair, Dan, Nate, Chuck and their family, friends and enimies in their daily, very dramatic, life. The Upper East side is known to be a very high class society place, and it has been taken to the limit in the show, where you can dream yourself into living the life of the wealthy and beautiful Serena van der Woodsen or Blair Waldorf. Ah yes! How amazing would it be to walk into a Chanel, Dior or Mulberry store and not having to worry about your financials. Sigh, maybe one day! But for now I'm just enjoying the show, and going through the seasons like crazy, while I'm looking forward to my summer break in a few days! Can't wait! I have good hopes for this summer, but I just can't believe a whole year has already gone by. It's like everything has been flash forward since two years ago. Next school year is definitely going to be challenging, and I'm excited and scared at the same time. Excited for new friends, parties and fun, and scared of all the homework and assignments, I know my next year will bring. But there is no reason to look to forward to autumn right now, as I know this summer break will be amazing! I'm going to a festival this month and another holiday to Crete with one of my best friends next month, it's all coming so close know that I've waited so long for summer. I just can't wait! But thats all for now, xoxo.

Sneaker obsession

As I've spotted for some time now, the sneaker obsession is a pretty big fashion hype at the moment, at least where I live, and probably where some of you do too. It's all about getting the newest and craziest designed pair and being up to date. It is as if the sneaker you're wearing almost defines who you are; are you popular & following the trend? I, myself, have also gotten into this form of sneaker obsession, and dream about expensive sneakers and how cool I would look if I were to buy a new pair. But oh well, money sometimes comes in the way, and over 100£ for a shoe, might just hurt my bank account a little too much. But we shall see, soon there might be a brand new release from Nike, and if that is the case I want to be first. But in the meantime here is some other sneakers I think would look amazing on my feet, maybe yours too?

Amazing strawberry tart - recipe!

Hello there!

June is finally here, and what better way to celebrate than with a sweet summery treat. I've recently made this amazing tart, so I've decided to share it with you. It's a lovely tart with a mazarin base, light vanilla cream filling and has fresh strawberries on top. It is a bit time consuming, but it will be worth it in the end, especially if you like baking as much as I do!

What you'll need:

For the tart dough:

  • 100g of cold unsalted butter in chopped bits
  • 50g of powder sugar
  • 130g of flour
  • 1 small egg

For the mazarin mixture:
  • 175g of marzipan
  • 150g of caster sugar
  • 100g melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 50g of flour

For the vanilla cream filling:
  • 1 egg
  • 15g cornstarch
  • vanilla bean from half a vanilla pod
  • 250ml milk
  • 40g castersugar
  • 250ml heavy whipping cream

And for toppings and the tart base:
  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 500g strawberries

Instructions:

You're going to start off  by making the tart dough. Crumble your 100g of butter together with your 50g of powder sugar and your 130g of flour, you can to this easy with a hand mixer. When your dough is crumbly, add the egg to the mixture and mix it all together until it forms a smooth consistence. Keep in mind that the dough might be a bit soft, but that's how it's supposed to be. Put the dough into the fridge, and let it sit for about 30 minutes or 45 minutes.
Meanwhile the dough is resting, you can turn on your owen to 200 degrees celsius and put a baking tray at the bottom of the owen.
Now you can start on making your mazarin mixture. Take your 175g of marzipan and 150g of caster sugar and form them into one mass. It's easiest if you just do it by hand, by pushing the sugar into the marzipan. When the sugar and marzipan are all combined, melt your 100g of butter, and add it to the mixture a little at a time, while you whisk it all together with a hand mixer. When you have poured all of your butter into the mixture, you can put your two eggs in, one at a time, mixing in-between. The last step is to sift your 50g of flour into the wet mixture, and then give it one last whisk, so that it's all combined and smooth, without any lumps.
When your tart dough from earlier has cooled down and hardened in the fridge for about 30 minutes, take a baking sheet, and put som flour on it. Take out a tart dish (about 30 cm in diameter), and butter it all over and well, so that the tart can be cut out of the dish, without being stuck or break when you serve it. Take your dough out of the fridge and roll it out on the sheet. Be sure to get flour on the dough, so that you kan lift it from the baking sheet, without it sticking. When you have rolled your dough out (you need to do it quickly, because the butter, keeping the dough together, must not be warmed up too much, or the dough will break. Take your baking sheet with the dough, and put your tart dish nearby. Turn the baking sheet with the dough on it up side down, on top of the tart dish, so that the dough lands exactly into the dish. Take of the baking paper and cut and adjust the dough to the fit the dish.
Now, take your mazarin mass and pour it on top of the dough in the dish. Put the tart in the preheated owen (200 degrees celsius) and place it on the lowest shelf in the owen. Bake it for about 20-25 minutes, until the mazarin mass is solid. Afterwards, take it out of the owen and let it cool completely.

When the tart has cooled down, melt your chocolate in a bowl on top of a pot with hot/boiling water. The bowl needs to be wider than the pot, and must not be made of plastic. The steam from the hot water, will heat op the bowl, and melt the chocolate in it. When the chocolate is melted, pour it over the cooled tart and spread it out, so that it covers the whole top. Let it sit and cool, until the chocolate has hardened. You can put it in the fridge, to speed up the process.

While the tart is cooling again, you can start on the vanilla cream for the filling. Take a pot and whisk your egg and cornstarch together, so that there is no lumps. When the mixture is smooth, put it on the heat and start adding your vanilla bean, 40g of sugar and 250ml of milk. Whisk the mixture while it heats up (on high heat). It should only take about 1 minute for the mixture to get a thick consistency, and when it does, take it of the heat and let it cool down in the fridge.

When the chocolate has hardened on the tart, take your 250ml whipping cream, and whisk it together until it gets a light and firm consistence. Take your vanilla cream out of the fridge, and give it a whisk just to make sure it's smooth. Now combine the two mixtures to one, and then put it on top of the tart. Wash your strawberries and cut them in half. Place them on top of the tart, and you're done!

Bon appetit!

NEW IN - Triangl Bikini (sizing tips, shipping and more)

Hello there!

As you may have seen in one of my recent blogposts, this year I decided to get myself a Triangl bikini. If you don't know what a Triangl bikini is I'll tell a little about them. A Triangl bikini is a special kind of bikni made out of a fabric called "neoprene". Neoprene fabric is known as the fabric that is used for wetsuits for scuba divers, but the Triangl brand makes bikinis out of it. Neoprene is a very fine material that is known not to be that stretchy, which also makes the Triangl bikinis keep their shape for a long time.
After a long time of consideration, my friend and I decided to buy the bikinis together, and then split the money from the shipping, which is always 20$, no matter where you live. I ordered the bikinis sunday, the were sent Wednesday and the package arrived at Friday, and I was very positively surprised by the fast shipping. It says on their website it normally takes three to ten woking days for the bikini to arrive, and it only took about three for my order.
I got the bikinis in a very stylish black box that spelled "Triangl"on the top. Inside the box was my friend's bikini on the top, and then a wet bag to carry the swimsuit in. At first I thought I had only just got her order, and mine was still to arrive, but as it turns out, my bikini was inside the wet bag. I was a bit confused because that meant we only got one wet bag, but my friend wanted the stylish box the bikinis came in, so I got the wet bag and there were no problems there.

The bikini I ordered is the Ollie Twiggy Stardust-bikini, which is a normal triangle-top bikini with hipster bottoms, both in leather look. I must say I was kind of afraid to order the bikini because it had to be shipped all the way from Australia to Denmark (Europe), and I couldn't try it on before I bought it. I started by searching the internet for reviews to be a 100% sure which size I should get. I also chatted with some of the staff on their webside to get advice. I am a 75B in the top and a 36 in the bottom (EU-sizes), so I got the small top and I couldn't decide if i should get the small or medium bottom. After some conversation with my friend, and some reviews on the bikini on youtube and a blog, I decided to get the medium bottom.
As it turns out, the bikini fitted me perfectly and I'm really happy I got the medium bottom. I had also read somewhere that this particular leather-look bikini was less stretchy than the others, which wasn't very stretchy anyways.
The top also fitted me, I dont know if it would have been better in medium as well, but it still fits me very nicely.
So my advice if you're thinking of getting a triangl bikini is to get the bottom size (and maybe the top size) one size bigger, than you normally would, and especially if you're going to buy the ones that has a leather-look finish.
I am yet to try the bikini out in the water and sun, and I might do a review of the bikini in another blog post, because there is some things you have to keep in mind when using it, because of the neoprene material, which is also described on a little note you get in the package when you buy it.

All in all I had a really good experience buying at Triangl.com, with good service and a beautiful bikini.

XoXo

5SOS concert 12/5/15

Hi there!

Yes, yet again I've been out in the city, and to a concert. What can I say, I just love it! It is at least the third month in a row, where I attend a concert, and it has been great!
This month I went to the "Five Seconds of Summer", or for short "5SOS" concert, in Forum, Copenhagen. We had seats on the sixteenth row before the stage, so we could actually se them im details, and not just as small dots on a stage, which was really awesome.
It was an awesome concert. The warm-up band was "Hey Violet", which is a band 5SOS signed to their own record label "Hi or Hey"-records. They were very energetic and had a punk-rock sound, like 5SOS, and I think they did a really good job at getting the audience excited and ready for the main act.
The concert itself was amazing. There were so many good songs and all the memories I have from these songs from the past, just made me really happy and excited. They were also really good live and they all had amazing voices and instrument talents. They were also really fun on stage, and folled a bit around, and took two lucky audience up on stage with them!
It was just a really good concert, and I'm really happy I went.
Here is some pictures I took:

Julia Moon concert 24/4/15

Last friday I went to a Julias Moon concert together with three of my friends in Vega, Copenhagen. It was an amazing night and we were standing very close to the stage, about three meters. At the concert I also meet one of my best friends and her very sweet friends as well.
The warm up was a cool guy who had a bit of a "Drake"-sound to his music, and it was very good. He also had an awesome DJ that just stood in the backgrund and danced by himself.
The main act, Julias Moon, was amazing. I loved all their songs, and they were really good live, I really recommend trying listening to their songs. At the end of the concert the lead singer even went down from the stage and walked through the audience, right past us! So we got a good close up of him!
I'm pretty sure that this concert was one of the best concerts I have ever been to, and I've already bought tickets to go see them again in October.
After the concert I went out to a bar with my friend and her friend, and we had a really good time just sitting and talking while we had some drinks. All in all it was an amazing night, and I would gladly do it all over again!
